We at Civil Engineers and Constructors, LLC consider ourselves a “boutique” consulting engineering firm. What exactly does that mean? We believe our extensive experience as both contractors and engineers allows clients to receive the benefit of common-sense design and continuous value engineering regardless of whether we are acting as your engineer or program manager. We do not seek to be the catch all engineering firm that has many different subspecialty staff that only increases overhead costs. Instead we seek to know what we excel at and contract with allied professionals (such as electrical, mechanical, geotech) when the need arises for a particular client or project.

About.

As Engineers.

We strive to produce buildable designs through plans and specifications that accurately describe the project to prospective bidders. Once a contractor is selected, CEC will prepare Contract Documents utilizing industry-standard and constantly updated contract language that hopes to eliminate or substantially reduce the unpleasant “surprise” of Change Orders. Construction is always a moving target, but our experience being on the construction side of the fence allows us to provide advice to Owner’s unlike any other engineer.

As Program Managers.

CEC will work as the Owner’s advocate alone in reviewing design work from Owner-hired architects/engineers and delving deeply into the Owner-hired contractor’s schedule, pricing and quality control. Our scope of expertise on this type of work is not limited to only heavy civil engineering projects, but “vertical” construction such as buildings, and “other horizontal” construction such as golf course reconstruction.CEC staff are licensed as Professional Engineers in the States of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. Through an extensive network of contacts with other design and construction professionals, CEC partners with other experts in a particular field when the need arises for Scope Expertise.
